Tim Liao is a pop vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer, and is currently working as an Associate Music Producer at an Emmy Award winning production company, Syn Music in Tokyo, Japan. Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with dual Bachelor's degrees in Music Production & Engineer, and Contemporary Writing & Production. With his experience and education, his skillset and musical ability is very versatile.
As a producer, he has helped produce countless TV commercials for world-leading brands such as Sony, Adidas, Walt Disney, Mercedes-Benz, P&G, Netflix, and many more. His rich musical background and extraordinary engineering skills made it possible to produce many successful projects. Tim's talents and production techniques have been recognized by top advertising agencies and creative directors in China, Japan, and USA, who certainly have strict standards on music.
Recently, Tim has also been a part of many projects as an arranger as well as a vocalist. His A Cappella arrangement of "Molasses" by Hiatus Kaiyote is now on Berklee's official YouTube page, and has earned more than 15k views. His voice can also be heard on various Chinese and Japanese TV commercials. Tim is also confident with using various recording consoles, DAWs, notation softwares, and processors that support his workflow. It's safe to say that from pre-production all the way to final delivery, he does it all.
Aside from his original compositions and a cappella arranging, he also has experience in big band, and orchestral arranging. In order to pull out the full potential and power within a song, every detail matters, and being able to work on each part of the process is his biggest blessing.
Listening to a certain piece of music can remind the listener of a special period of their life. This is one of the reasons why people can experience so many different emotions through music. Even though the melody is intangible, it still has the power that can make people move and feel. Tim is constantly getting inspired by the modern artists and musicians, and he believes that now is the time for him to repay his gratitude by inspiring others with his own music.
